When did you get the GTX590 Question

I wondered why your stats seem to have taken a stratospheric boost.

What is the crunch time for 2 x primegrid wu's?

And dont the buggers rape the electricity?

You noticed!
I got it just less than a week ago. It's pumping out about 850K for Primgrid per day. Laughing Cool Very Happy Each PPS work-unit takes 8-900s, 2 run simultaneously and each is worth 4327 credits.

I'm working on the basis that the overall lecky demand will be similar once the various retirals are taken into account [details in the blog]. A quick test showed it was drawing 450W. This is only 75W more than the same machine with 2 GTX 260s was using. Which for 3 times the output isn't a bad trade off. It works out at 79K Credits/KWHr compared to 29KCredits/KWHr. Way more efficient!

Anyway with Steve stopped I thought I had to do something. And the idea of making it to the top 100 rather appeals (#136 today).

Whats that 13m 20s to 15m pwu, I thought that it would shift quicker tbh but i suppose its doing 2 in that time so effectively its 6m 40s to 7m 30s pwu.

I did honestly think they would go faster as im basing it on my gpu which to be honest is turboed up it does a wu in 10m 20s if i dont use the computer to 10m 50s if i do use it.

Here is a dump of me obviously using the comp hence the 10m 40 sec predictions.

It would be good if
1. i could afford to buy a gtx590

2. if msi did a twin frozr version so i could kick its arse with oc Smile .

So if you want to rationalise that ill give you a ton for it Very Happy .

A ton? Let me think.. thought! No thanks!

As for overclocking my years of Boincing have led me to the conclusion that it's not worth it in the long run. If you are lucky you can just about get away with running your cards 24/365 for a few years before thay die of exhaustion. If you add to lack of rest added intensity it's likely to shorten the life of the component and everything round about it. As well as upping the lecky bill even further and increasing the heat pollution & increasing the risk of crashes

There's no doubt that your 570 punches well above it's weight - it's about as quick as my 580.

I'll save any overclocking experiments for when the weather is colder, I've fewer machines in the basement and the kit is closeer to its replacement date. Smile
